BigDaySite is not open yet. We are preparing it with a few pilot weddings, so what this page describes is not available to the public yet.
Collecting your guests' photos with a QR code
Guests will scan a code on the table and send you what they captured, straight from their phone. Only you will see the uploads; guests will never see each other's.
Coming in this phase. We are building photo and video collection now and will mark this page when you can use it.
The situation
After most weddings the best pictures sit on forty different phones. A shared album asks every guest to install an app or join a group, and then everyone sees everything, including the photo of the best man that he would rather you kept to yourself.
How it will work on the night
- In your workspace, you will turn on photos from guests and get a QR code to download and print.
- Put it on the tables, by the bar or next to the guest book.
- A guest scans it with their phone camera, and a page opens in the browser. We are building it to work without an app, an account or a sign-in.
- They pick photos or short videos and send them. The page will tell them when each file has arrived.
Only you will see what arrives
The code will let a guest add their own photos and nothing else. There is no shared gallery behind it: a guest will not be able to see what anyone else sent, and nobody will be able to browse your uploads by guessing a link. A guest who changes their mind will be able to remove what they sent from the same phone.
If a printed code ends up somewhere it should not, you will be able to make a new one in your workspace. The old code will stop working at once; anything already sent will stay with you.
Afterwards
Every original will be kept as the phone made it. While your site is online you will be able to look through everything and download all the originals in one archive.
What it costs
Photos from guests will come with the paid plans: Essentials will include 5 GB and Celebration 20 GB, shared with the photos you upload yourself. Free will not include collection from guests. See the plans
